Klaveness Maritime Agency (KMA) was established in 1984 to support the crewing activities of its Principal, then, the Torvald Klaveness A/S Oslo. Main activities in those early years were recruitment, processing and embarkation of sea staff to the Klaveness vessels. This included training and development of all crew members, where KMA is a recognised quality provider.The functions of the Manila Office
The functions of KMA have further increased, and today it support a number of activities involving back office functions on behalf of and in cooperation with its Principal now, the Klaveness Maritime Logistics (KML), Norway. KMA is now established as an integrated part of Torvald Klaveness.Some activities include:
- Crew Management: KMA handles all functions related to crew operations and crew training, including the supervision of Officer Development through the KML Cadet Program which presently involves 144 Cadets. In addition to all functions related to vessel purchasing, IT support and Accounting.
- Family Organization: through Seamen's Wives Association of Klaveness (SWAK).
KMA is ISO 90001 certified by DNV.
