Selfunloaders

MV Balder

MV Barkald (middle) transshipping coal
into another selfunloader vessel
The Selfunloaders give our customers efficient discharging options by using the vessels’ conveyor belt booms without any investments in shore cranes.
This is the answer to the increased demand for efficiency and predictable cargo delivery, environmentally friendly discharge and transportation to inaccessible or underdeveloped areas, inefficient ports or ports with high labour costs.
The Klaveness Selfunloader fleet at the moment counts:
- One handymax top-reclaiming selfunloader
- One "grab-belt” handymax transhipping selfunloader vessel
- One panamax gravity based selfunloader
- Two panamax gravity based selfunloaders to be delivered in 4Q2012 and 2Q2013.
All vessels are equipped with a boom conveyor that can reach 60-75 meters on shore, and the entire cargo handling is performed by the vessels’ crew/equipment. The "grab-belt" vessel is equipped with a dust suppression system, while the top-reclaimer and gravity vessels offer totally enclosed cargo handling securing dust-free discharge.
All vessels are mainly operated in the Caribbean and in North America where they carry coal, salt, iron ore, aggregates and gypsum rock.nettaktiv.no
