Klaveness Combinations Carriers (KCC) is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Operations Manager. You will be part of a global team taking part in managing KCC’s world leading innovative fleet of combination carriers.

KCC is owning and operating eight CABU and eight CLEANBU combination carriers with three CABU vessels for delivery in 2026. The company has ambitions to continue growing its business and fleet over the coming years based on its unique commercial, technical and operational know how.  KCC’s combination carriers are built for transportation of both wet and dry bulk cargoes, being operated in trades where the vessels efficiently combine dry and wet cargoes with minimum ballast. Through their high utilization and efficiency, the vessels emit up to 40% less CO2 per transported ton compared to standard tanker and dry bulk vessels in current and targeted combination trading patterns.

The Operations Manager we are seeking will be located at company headquarter in Oslo, reporting to Head of Operations.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the role is to deliver ship operation services of assigned vessels, as well as responsibility for all costs and income, hire payable, and hire receivable - in line with KCC’s strategy and goals, always prioritizing safety, security, environment, and compliance.

  • End-to-end voyage management on allocated vessels to meet commercial, operational, and decarbonization targets, including planning, execution, optimization, VMS oversight, and performance claims

  • Manage financial and administrative responsibilities related to voyage execution, including hire payments, accounts payable, and accounts receivable

  • Manage third parties including agents through DA-Desk, ordering of cleaning equipment and chemicals for hold/tank cleaning

  • Assist Chartering in pre-fixture clearances, vessel clearances, and business development

  • Optimize switching between dry bulk and tanker mode

  • Develop personal skills and capability through ongoing training, as provided by the company or third parties subject to company approval

  • Promote and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, leadership principles, drive the safety culture and represent KCC brand

Qualifications:

  • Relevant education at college/university level, preferably within maritime, with operational experience from shipping or a similar business. Nautical background at sea is preferred.

  • At least 3 years’ work experience with tanker operations, familiarity with CPP tanker ops

  • Genuine interest and understanding of shipping industry rules and regulations, standards and requirements

  • Good understanding of tanker industry requirements, including Charter Party terms, Bills of Lading, Vetting and clearances.

  • Experience in handling vessel clearances and/or vessel compatibility

  • Good understanding and knowledge of IT systems

  • Capacity to cope with substantial work responsibilities

  • Strong ability to solve problems and generate solutions in a timely, transparent and effective manner
