1st April 2022: Torvald Klaveness today announces Ernst Meyer officially begins as President and CEO of the company. Meyer was appointed to the position in January 2022 following his tenure as Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of Klaveness Ship Management (KSM).

Meyer commented, “I am thrilled to be starting as the new President and CEO at Klaveness. The company is in a very strong position with all areas of the business currently delivering excellent results and I sincerely look forward to working more closely with our talented colleagues and pioneers throughout the wider organization.”

Meyer started at the company in 2019, having previously spent close to 20 years serving the maritime industry with Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in executive positions. During Meyer’s time at KSM, he fostered a strong safety and security culture rooted in the Klaveness Always Safe and Secure (KLASS) principles. In addition to driving safety and security, Meyer drove KSM’s strategy to develop decarbonization services to vessels under KSM management and to develop ‘Data Smartness’ to drive the SAFER and GREENER agenda. KSM has since successfully expanded the business unit introducing new services related to technical and ship management to customers.

Meyer adds, “looking forward, we will continue full steam ahead on our strategic ambition of making seaborne supply chains resilient, decarbonized, and cost-effective. A strong safety culture safeguarding our people and minimizing our industry’s impact on climate and the environment will remain at the heart of everything we do.”
